About this Event
This special morning celebrates five decades of George Howell's dedication and influence in specialty coffee. George will reflect on his 50-year journey in coffee through conversation and a Q&A. From the 1970s to modern day, learn about the legacy that has helped shape how coffee is sourced, roasted, and enjoyed today.
George will be joined by his daughter, Jenny Howell, VP & Director of Sourcing at George Howell Coffee, offering a unique, multi-generational perspective on coffee, terroir, and the future of the industry. The conversation will be thoughtfully moderated by Rachel Kanter, founder and owner of Lovestruck Books and Cafe, where George Howell Coffee is the café partner, and Rebecca Fitzgerald, President of George Howell Coffee.
The event will begin with approximately 45 minutes of moderated discussion, followed by an audience Q&A. Guests will also enjoy a guided coffee tasting led by George and Jenny, highlighting a coffee that reflects the heart of their work: Mamuto.
This event is a rare opportunity to hear directly from one of the most influential figures in specialty coffee, set in a space that celebrates conversation and community.
