Join exhibition curator Sarah Cox for a talk delving deeper into the themes of the exhibition Chance Encounters: The Art of Rachel Reckitt, which is the first retrospective of Reckitt’s art to be held for over twenty years. Visitors will be able to see the amazing breadth of the work she created, across a range of media including wood engraving, painting, wooden sculpture and metalwork. The exhibition and talk will cover artwork from across the six decades of her career.
The talk will take place in the museum’s historic Castle House and will be followed by a guided tour of the exhibition led by the curator.
Tea/ coffee will be provided on arrival.
This art tour is part of the Chance Encounters: The Art of Rachel Reckitt exhibition at The Museum of Somerset running until 15 March. The exhibition a retrospective of paintings, sculpture and wood engravings by the West Somerset artist Rachel Reckitt (1908-1995.)
