Talk and Demo with Steve Puttrich, 2025 AJE JudgeThe 3 Main Pillars: Design, Story and Freshness
Tuesday, November 11, 6-8pm
Cedarburg Cultural Center
The Cedarburg Artists Guild will host fine artist and instructor Steve Puttrich for a two-hour evening presentation and live watercolor demonstration on Tuesday, November 11, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Cedarburg Cultural Center in downtown Cedarburg. The session is medium-agnostic and geared to artists of every discipline who want to create work that connects.
Puttrich will unpack the three pillars he uses to judge shows and to make his own paintings: design, story, and freshness. Expect a clear, practical talk paired with a
start-to-finish watercolor demo that shows how strong shapes and values set the stage, how to find and express a narrative, and how to keep brushwork alive without overworking.
“Great art lives where design, story, and freshness meet. When those three align, viewers feel it,” Puttrich said. “My goal is to give artists tools they can use the very next time they paint.”
The evening includes time for audience Q&A. All artists and art lovers are welcome. This is a free event sponsored by the Cedarburg Artists Guild in partnership with the Cedarburg Cultural Center.
