In this exhibition, Shlomit presents a new direction in her practice. Alongside her signature large-scale sculptures, she introduces delicate, small-scale carvings inspired by the community whittling workshops she has led across Victoria — including with rural communities and people recovering from natural disasters. “Carving in miniature teaches us to slow down and pay attention. Every tiny cut makes a difference. It’s a mindful, healing practice — and a way of telling new stories.”
“Tales the Trees Told Me” is a collection of works shaped by community, storytelling and nature. It is an offering of art as sanctuary — joyful, grounded, and alive.
We warmly invite you to the opening on Saturday 6 September at 1pm. If you’re unable to attend, we’d be happy to arrange a personal tour with the artist at another time.
