Join us this month as ISM operations manager, Doris Bailey, dives into the life and work of two former Illinois State Museum employees, Robert P. Taylor and Arthur Sieving, whose lives intersected in fascinating ways. Robert Preston Taylor started his career with the ISM in 1911 as an exhibit preparator and custodian. Arthur Sieving was an internationally known sculptor, musician, and ventriloquist who created dioramas for Museum exhibits. The two men came together in their work at the Museum and in the creation of a beautiful piece of art.
This program will take place in-person at the ISM Research and Collection Center at 1011 E. Ash Street, Springfield. The program will also be streamed online with advanced registration required at https://bit.ly/TFVMay24. The event will be recorded and shared to the Illinois State Museum YouTube page. For more information please contact [email protected] or (217) 782-6044.
