On the heels of celebrating a very special 20 years in business serving the Traverse City area, Trattoria Stella and Chef Brad Greenhill take it back to the old country for this culinary collaboration. Greenhill, who first started cooking Italian cuisine, and Chef Myles Anton serve some feel-good Italian dishes accompanied by the incredible wines from BOS wines and winemaker Dave Bos. Rounding out the evening we welcome Nicholas Lefebre from Ethanolo¿y Distillation for cocktail hour.About TAKOI:
Since its scrappy beginnings, TAKOI has always thrived when forced to do some creative problem solving. From dinners in an apple orchard to serving six and seven-course meals out of a closed bakery during its off-hours, Chef Brad Greenhill has always known how to pivot. In the spirit of the last ten years of TAKOI doing its own thing, the TAKOI Ten Year Anniversary Tour will include a special stop at Trattoria Stella
Located in the Corktown neighborhood of Detroit, TAKOI began as a food truck in 2014 and then established their brick-and-mortar location in 2016. Known for its contemporary take on Thai cuisine that also celebrates Michigan seasonality, TAKOI also operates HiO Farm which is located just two miles north of the restaurant. Truly farm-to-table, with the addition of Thai pantry staples, it is not uncommon for ingredients to be delivered from the farm to the restaurant on an as-needed basis during dinner service.
Since its origins as a street food destination, championed by locals and industry veterans who are in-the-know, TAKOI has also been recognized nationally as one of the top restaurants in the region. In 2016 the restaurant earned the Detroit Free Press “Best Restaurant of the Year,” and nominated as James Beard semi-finalist for “Best New Restaurant” in 2017.
