1 December 2021, 6 PM - 10 PM
Join us on Wednesday, 1 December for an easygoing evening of live painting, Asian-Latino tunes, light bites, and a Q&A with the talented Trey Hurst.
And an open bar from 6 PM - 7 PM
???? ???? ????: "Lately I’ve been thinking a lot about moving slowly, both in the work that I do and the way in which I live my life and navigate the world. And I’ve been trying to embrace the benefits of that sort of movement, and acknowledge the privilege that allows me to take time and move slowly. Slowness is really a part of life here, and I want people to reflect on the benefits of 'taking one’s time.'
"Each piece represents some aspect of that slowness. In some pieces, slowness is evident in the process -- long, careful brushstrokes. In others, slowness is woven into the story. Like 'Long Walk Home', for instance, which reflects my own memories of stumbling home on foot after a lovely evening out, taking over an hour, just to soak up the city at night."
???'? ????: a visual artist and designer based in Bangkok. Born and raised in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Trey's work is an exercise in pattern-building, using simple and repetitive brushwork. He originally trained as an architect and draws inspiration from the constant making and remaking of patterns in our environment.
Trey's portfolio consists mostly of abstract ink and watercolour drawings and paintings on canvas, textiles, and saa paper handmade by a professional papermaker from Chiang Mai.
???'? ????????: since trading his native Panama for Bangkok in 2017, Buhonero has developed the concept of Asian-Latino music. The cultural movement fuses artistic influences from Asia and Latin American, which manifest themselves in the universal language of art.
Recognised as an emerging talent by The Bangkok Post, Buhonero’s latest releases are milestones for Asian-Latino music. His unique Latino-Thai group remixes famous lyrics, setting them to Latin grooves to introduce Thai culture to the native rhythms of Latin America.
