We're delighted to be forming another 8 week series to deepen our practice CI, on and off the dance floor!Someone recently asked what is the most fundamental principle of CI. We responded- to take care of yourself!
If each cares for themselves, in all their relatedness, the whole that we are is cared for and all within it thrive. We exist in relationship to all that is. Caring for the self is caring for The Self.
Contact Improvisation begins in contact and improvises to care for the whole. We gather to research ourselves and how we relate.
We explore through the body. It cannot lie. It reveals the being underneath the doing. It informs the present moment choices. It teaches what serves and what doesn’t. In doing so it, also, offers a model to explore off the dance floor in daily life.
Sessions will contain tips/strategies/games/focuses, to meet and play with the infinite possibilities in CI. We’ll be curious, together, to deepen our ability to savor and enjoy improvising in contact.
All degrees of experience are most welcome. Each unique contribution informs our understanding of what is and what is possible!
This series will include an additional option to explore transfering principles from the dance floor to daily life. Via in person and a google doc we can share our discoveries. Does CI contain within it an orientation that can benefit our personal and collective world?
You may sign up for the 8 weeks and enjoy continuity with others that do so, too, at a lower per session rate!
