About this Event

About the Event

The magnitude of the conservation and climate issues that we collectively are facing means that we cannot simply focus on individual projects. Instead, we need to take action more effectively across the much larger range of program scales needed to address these global issues and achieve our ambitious climate and conservation targets.

Over the past few years, funded by the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation and the Walton Family Foundation, we have worked with a number of real-world conservation and climate programs to develop and test a framework for how to achieve impact at scale more systematically. This framework combines five scaling approaches with behavior change, networking, and systems thinking principles.

In this session, we will summarize our overall Taking Conservation & Climate Innovations to Scale Framework and present real-world case studies, including Conservation International's Climate Smart Shrimp program and Rare's Fish Forever program, sharing examples and lessons learned from their successful application of this framework.

We will then guide participants through the FOS Scaling Challenge that helps users apply our Framework to their work. Participants will learn to define their project core concept, identify scaling units, and select system-based strategies for scaling their own climate initiatives. Facilitators will guide small group discussions and provide personalized feedback, ensuring attendees leave with practical tools and actionable insights.
