An inclusive community event in support of the freedom and safety of women and gender diverse people who love to walk and run on local roads, tracks, and trails.
Join us as we walk, run, meander, roll, or stroll along the Campbells Creek Trail - starting at Campbells Creek Park and ending at the Botanical Gardens in Castlemaine. This will be an informal self guided walk/run with no registrations.
For shorter walk/run/roll/stroll join us at the Botanical Gardens from 11am for a meander on the garden track.
We will gather at the end of the walk /run at the Botanical Gardens Playground area for a Welcome to Country and community picnic. We will hear about the national Take Back the Track campaign, and local community led initiatives to support and gender diverse people in accessing the Campbells Creekcommunity ledyond.
PLAN YOUR WALK/RUN:
💜The full trail return from Campbells Creek Park to Castlemaine Botanical Gardens and back is around 10km
💜For a shorter course participants might choose to walk/run one way 5km, or arrange or join the course at entry points along the track into Castlemaine - The trail has access points at Princess St., Lewis Drive, Elizabeth St., Roberts Ave, Johnstone St., Forest St, Gingel St.
💜For a gentle stroll join us at the Botanical Gardens from 11am for a meander on the garden track
💜A free shuttle bus service will be available back to Campbells Creek park at the end of the community gathering

We are proudly joining National 'Take Back the Track' day, where running/walking groups Take the country will be saying enough is enough to the violence, harassment and intimidation experienced by far too many women and gender diverse runners.
'Back the Track' is a new national campaign by Sissy Austin, who is a Peek Woorroong, Keerraay Woorroong, Djab Wurrung First Nations woman. The campaign supports the freedom and safety of women and gender diverse vement that .
'We strive to lead a growing morecognises the unacceptable experience of women and gender diverse runners, and the for all runners to feel a sense of freedom and happiness when running.'
