Hatch It House is offering a humane, responsible option for our customers—and the greater Northern California community—to rehome surplus roosters. If your flock ended up with more crowers than you bargained for, we’ve got you covered.
🔍 DETAILS:
• Roosters must be 5–6 months of age or older
• Birds must be in good health (no visible signs of illness or disease)
• Open to all Northern California residents
• Early drop-off access for Hatch It House customers who have purchased chicks or hatching eggs
• Collection will continue until we hit capacity (approx. 60 birds)

💭 What happens to the birds?
Unless your rooster plays fetch, helps with chores, or brings you your morning coffee (and believe us, we’ve tested), they’ll be processed humanely and used to help feed our families and others in need. Portions will also be donated to local food banks.
If your bird turns out to be a real gem, we might let him retire here—but don’t bet the feed bag on it.
This event helps ensure your extra roosters don’t end up dumped, neglected, or worse. It’s our way of closing the loop—ethically, sustainably, and with intention.
