Take a Kid Mountain Biking Day - Harlingen Arroyo Trails

IMBA Take a Kid Mountain Biking Day (TKMBD) is an annual event that seeks to introduce the joy of mountain biking to the next generation. Created in 2004 and recognized by the U.S. Congress, TKMBD is officially celebrated every year during the month of October.
On Saturday, 10/26/2024, we encourage families to take their kids to our local Harlingen Arroyo Trails. Share pictures and stories from your day with the hashtag #TKMBD on social media. The Valley Off-Road Bicycling Association (VORBA), will be providing free snacks, decals and swag for participants. We will also raffle items like bike helmets, jerseys, and other MTB specific gear. Items will be available on a first come, first served basis.
For this year's event, we will host a Kid's Course at Harlingen Arroyo Park. This beginner friendly course will allow younger riders to experience the thrills of mountain biking! There will also be a bike rodeo on the grass area for the little riders on balance bikes, our new Arroyo Park Velosolutions asphalt pump track, and local vendors on site and our local bike shops. This is a FREE event for the RGV community so bring out the family!
