Annual Take a Kid Fishing Day at Myrtle Beach State Park
About this Event

Join SCDNR & partnered Horry County Fishing Piers for the annual Take a Kid Fishing Day. This event will take place over different piers and children over the age of 3 plus 1 adult will get to fish for free! All participants will receive a swag bag, bait and there will be fishing instructors available to help! Raffle will be included. Bring a reusable water bottle for an extra raffle ticket! Participating children must RSVP to attend.

Raffle items were generously donated by West Marine, Toadfish Outfitters, and The Southern Anglers Radio Show.

Details are below:

What to bring:

-Bring fishing rods & tackle if you have. Each site will have some rods to rent (free of charge), but won't have enough for everyone. All bait will be provided.

-Check the weather report and dress appropriately as you will be outside. Other items to consider bringing include hat, sunglasses, sunblock, bug spray and a reusable water bottle.

COVID precautions: We are following the CDC guidelines and will remain socially distanced throughout the event unless you are in the same household.

Weather: Clinics are held rain or shine unless hazardous weather occurs.

Costs: Free admission to the park for all participating families. The event is free of charge for registered children plus 1 adult. Other members of the family will have to pay the cost site.

Location details: Myrtle Beach State Park Fishing Pier

Parking: Please park in the parking lot outside of the fishing pier. You'll check in on the fishing pier.

No smoking on the pier
