About this Event
The first 36 children that are registered and attend will receive an inshore fishing rod and reel combo.
PARENTS: DO NOT REGISTER YOURSELF. ONLY REGISTER CHILDREN!!!!!!
Join SCDNR & partnered Horry County Fishing Piers for the annual Take a Kid Fishing Day. This event will take place over different piers and children over the age of 3 plus 1 adult will get to fish for free! Raffle tickets will be included. Bring a reusable water bottle for an extra raffle ticket! Participating children must RSVP to attend.
Details are below:
• What to bring:
-Bring fishing rods & tackle if you have it. Each site will have some rods to rent to kids (free of charge), but won't have enough for everyone. If the adult is going to fish, they must bring their own gear. All bait will be provided.
-Check the weather report and dress appropriately as you will be outside. Other items to consider bringing include a hat, sunglasses, sunblock, bug spray and a reusable water bottle.
• Weather: Events are held rain or shine unless hazardous weather occurs.
• Costs: Free admission to the pier for all participating families. The event is free of charge.
• Location details: Cherry Grove Pier in North Myrtle Beach
• Parking: Please park in the parking lot outside of the fishing pier. You'll check in on the fishing pier.
• No smoking on the pier; this is a catch and release event only.
