Join UF/IFAS Extension Sarasota County and Sarasota County Park Naturalist Pete Garcia to learn how to remove invasive vegetation such as Snake Plant or Mother-in-law’s Tongue (Sansevieria trifasciata). We'll start out with brief education about the concerns with invasive species and their impacts on our unique Florida environments and how to remove invasive plants. Followed by families working together in community to help remove invasives, one of Florida's greatest threats to healthy habitats. Our work will create space for native vegetation to thrive.
Parking is limited at 190 Taft Drive. We recommend parking on side streets near the entrance of Ted Sperling Nature Park. Gloves will be provided for use during removal.
