It is the responsibility of every participating angler to know, understand and abide by these tournament rules during this competition. Any participant who deliberately violates these rules will immediately be disqualified. Disqualification results in total forfeit of any and all prizes. Only registered competitors are eligible for any potential qualifying prizes. The safety of all anglers and their teammates is their responsibility and should be the first consideration in all aspects of this competition. Any intentional cheating, harassing of other anglers or any other conduct determined by the tournament staff to be outside the spirit of good sportsmanship will not be tolerated and is grounds for immediate disqualification and permanent ejection from the tournament. All dates and times stated will be based upon the Central Standard Time zone.
Summary of Rules for 2024
Rules (Subject to change up to a week before the start of the tournament)
Tournament begins Saturday 6am after you check in remotely. It ends Sunday, October 20th, 12pm. All submissions must be posted on the Team Shark at the Moon Group Page
Check in will be done remotely via videos posted to the Team Shark at the Moon Group Page. Your check in video must contain the measuring device you will be using, no lines in the water and all of the participants in your camp entered in the tournament.
After remotely checking in, you will be assigned a randomly generated alpha-numeric number. These must be shown in your submission videos.
Your submission video must contain the angler submitting, the random number assigned, the approved measuring device and a CLEAR AND LEGIBLE MEASUREMENT.
NO ONE CAN ENTER VIDEOS AFTER 12:00pm.
All Texas Parks and Wildlife rules and laws will be enforced. All anglers must have a valid fishing license.
The tournament is open to Kayak fishing, bank fishing, wade fishing, pier fishing and boat fishing (with the exclusion of the shark sidepot)!
ALL FISH MUST BE CAUGHT ON ROD AND REEL ONLY!!!
Everyone on your boat, if fishing from a boat, MUST be entered in the tournament!

In order to be participate in the Shark Side Pot, you must be entered in the red fish tournament
Sharks cannot be landed from boats, they must be caught land based fishing.
You may deploy yout bait by any legal means available to you.
Artificial bait, dead bait, live bait, and cut-bait are allowed. There is no rod or reel limit.
Any Fish that is Deemed Illegal or the secret item not shown in the video will result in all of the contestant’s fish disqualified. This includes mutilated and altered fish.
A video submission will be required to enter fish. The video MUST CONTAIN – an accurate and clear depiction of the fish measurement WITH the secret item, the angler and the date and time.
All red fish must be measured with a noseboard measuring device. Your noseboard must be shown in clearly so numbers can be read during your remote check in video.
An adult must accompany any minor that is under the age of 16 unless permission is granted from us.
At the discretion of the organizer, a polygraph may be required to claim prize.
The number of entrants in the tournament will determine the amount of money that is paid out. Half of entries are being donated to benefit
Guides are allowed to fish and/or guide in this tournament.
