--Support this year’s Fund an Item–Veterinary Care for Pets in Need--
Sixty dollars.
What do you spend $60 dollars on?
A dinner out?
A few trips to the coffee shop?
A very nice bottle of wine?
That same $60 can change the life of an animal in need of services and the family that loves them but doesn’t have the option of providing all the care their animal may need.
In 2023, MCHA provided $115,414 in subsidized veterinary care to 2,306 cats and dogs whose families were struggling financially. All of these families live at or below 150% of the federal poverty line. In addition, 336 of these pet families also received food assistance through the Food & Supply Pantry Program.
MCHA’s nonprofit veterinary clinic stands as a vital resource in Monroe County, addressing the pressing need for accessible veterinary care among pets whose owners are struggling.
For just $60 per animal, MCHA can provide a range of health and nutrition services. These include parasite prevention, life saving vaccinations, x-rays, lab and diagnostic services, spay/neuter surgery, medications, medical examinations, and food assistance.
How many pets would you be willing to support?
By making these services more accessible, we not only address immediate health needs but also prevent pets from being surrendered to shelters due to their owners’ inability to afford costly medical care.
This has a dual benefit: it alleviates the burden on our already overstretched shelter system and ensures that pets can remain with their loving families, maintaining the bond that is so crucial to both human and animal well-being.
Double Your Impact--
For each contribution made to this year’s “Fund an Item” initiative, every dollar will be matched, effectively doubling the impact of your donation.
