EVENT SUMMARY: Don't leave them at home! Your furry friends are always welcome in the Historic District, especially for this year's ALL-NEW event, Tails & Sales! This event is filled with cocktail trails, sales and so much more, from your favorite downtown merchants. Costume competitions and even a virtual dog run will complete this exciting new event! The Downtown is going to the Dogs on April 17th! "VARK & BARK" DOGGIE DASH: Sponsored by Aardvark Sports Shop, this 1-mile virtual run with pups is designed to bring awareness and to raise money for The Center for Animal Health and Welfare. This event will be held through Zoom.
*Participants will pre-register starting 2/26/2021 on our website. From 4/10/2021 through 4/16/2021, runners will visit Aardvark Sports Shop to pick up their Doggie Bag, complete with t-shirt and matching bandana, and some swanky doggie treats! Participants will receive a zoom link in their inbox, the days leading up to the run. The run beings via zoom on 4/17 at 9AM (registration at 8:45AM). This 1-mile/30 run will be on a course that you've designed at home. Cost to enter is $20.00
CANINE COSTUME CONTEST: Enter to win! Submit a pic of your pup in their BEST costume. The Top 5 with the most votes will be invited to visit us for a LIVE awards ceremony outside of Aardvark Sports Shop at Tails & Sales on 4/17/2021 at 11AM!
*Enter our contest from 2/26/2021 through 3/31/2021. Simply take a pic of your pup in their best costume, and upload the pic when you enter! Voting will begin on 4/5/2021 through 4/14/2021. Cost to enter is $5.00
THE BARKING LOT: This area of Main Street (at the 1750 Smithy - across from Musselman Jewelers) will serve as our Barking Lot. Visit with The Center for Animal Health and Welfare and meet some rescues! This area wouldn't be complete without additional vendors that will supplement the shopping experience on Main and Broad Streets.
DOGHOUSE ROW: While at the 1750 Smithy, stroll down the pathway that leads you into The Colonial Industrial Quarter, to see the doghouses and pups that have been painted by our artistic locals! Scan the QR codes and vote for your favorite online!
*Doghouse and Pup cutouts will be available for purchase on our website starting 2/26/2021. Best Pup and Best Dog House will each win a $100 Downtown Bethlehem Gift Certificate! Dog House Cutout - $25.00, Puppy Cutout $15.00. All cutouts must be dropped off at the 1750 Smithy on Friday, 4/16 from 9AM - 4PM
COCKTAIL TRAIL: Fetch your to-go cocktail samples for your flight carrier, from 12 participating merchants while you shop and stroll throughout the Historic District. Various water stations will be available for your pups to fill up too.
*A complimentary Shopping Pass will be included with the purchase of all Cocktail Trail Passports ($10 without passport). Link to purchase tickets, coming soon! Cost to participate in the trail is $45
SHOPPING PASS: For those looking to do a little shopping while in town, visit participating merchants to save on your favorite products! Shopping passes are $10 for purchase - you can receive over $1,000 in savings!
