Join us at Shoppe and Tailor Studios for a fun and informative workshop on the basics of tailoring and sewing! Whether you're a beginner or looking to brush up on your skills, this event is perfect for anyone interested in tailoring their own stylish garments.

During this hands-on workshop, you'll learn essential sewing techniques and tailoring tips from our experienced instructors. From hemming pants to taking in a dress, you'll leave with the knowledge and confidence to tackle your own DIY fashion projects.

Students are asked to bring 1-3 garments of clothing that they would like to alter, repair, or change the fit of in some way. The class will go over the basics of using a sewing machine, how to pin & fit your garment on your body, and how to execute the adjustments.

The goal of this class is to empower students with basic sewing skills, in orer to feel confident taking on future projects independently, as well as help to keep clothing waste out of landfill by giving your garments a new life with a better fit.

Accessibility:

• Our studio is down a flight of 15 steps, located on the lower level at 428 Ossington Ave.
• We have an all-gender washroom
• Shoppe and Tailor Studios is a scent-free space, please refrain from wearing strong-scented perfumes/colognes while in the space.
• Overhead work lights are LEDS, and we play soft music during our classes. We have earplugs available on request for anyone who may need them
• Masks are optional, but encouraged. If you would feel more comfortable with the instructor wearing a mask, please let us know and we'd be happy to accommodate! Lets keep eachother safe :)
