With the cold mornings creeping in it feels like winter has approached us already - mushroom season is early!
With that said TAIAHA has a heart-warming - or wrenching? song coming to you hot off the press called "Crowded Room" and a live show with the full 5 piece band to celebrate!
Seeing TAIAHA live in full form with his band is an embodied experience. A band of musicians whose main focus beyond anything is to allow the original music to shine. A classically trained guitarist and childhood friend on bass, an inventive drummer with an instinctive edge, a world class keyboard player and long-time DJ through thick and thin have joined TAIAHA's force. His gentle power commands the stage and your attention, taking you on an almost mythical ride through rhythm and poetry.
Supports for the launch include a not-to-be-missed tasteful set by DJ Oh Tracks, Hip-Hop Producer/rapper straight out of Jamaica with fresh styles and pockets and cadence for days! DEC and DaKreecha who just featured TAIAHA on their latest single "Insomnia" with their high level vocal intelligence and L E N I with a live band bringing positive funk with a lot of soul, an all original songwriter known for his work in band Local Revolution. Without overcrowding the bill these acts will all get a proper set time to shine and will be flowed together by the one and only JIRRAH.
"Crowded Room" is another self-produced song by TAIAHA and the 2nd lead single from forthcoming album "God Gave Me Courage" and has been debuted at Midas Touch Launch and WOMADelaide and proved to be an important key in these sets.
A stark contrast to the firmly positive "Midas Touch" released earlier this year, this song speaks truthfully to the flip side of not just art but also life, the winter side, this song will hit you right in the feels with a strong riff and passionate lyrics.
June 3rd we shall head into the "bunker" like venue that is Jack and Jill's . A restaurant by day and funky venue by night this hidden gem is a perfect place to launch "Crowded Room" and hear a special listening of studio album "God Gave Me Courage" prior to its release.
