Tai Chi with Ken and the Happiness U Hui
Recharge your body and mind with Tai Chi. This calming, relaxing, yet energizing class blends tai chi, chi kung, and pushing hands exercises to build lower body strength, joint flexibility, physical balance, mind focus, breath awareness, and quiet centering.
About Ken
Ken began his Tai Chi journey while studying at Sophia University in Tokyo, Japan. After graduating in 1978, he deepened his practice in Taiwan under Master Wang Yen Nien, the esteemed president of the Republic of China Tai Chi Chuan Federation. Over the course of a decade, Ken honed his skills, earning recognition in international competitions—including second place in the 1980 Pushing Hands competition, first place in 1982, and an Outstanding Performance citation in Tai Chi Form in 1987. He remains sanctioned by the Federation to this day.
Currently, Ken shares his knowledge with students at the Kāne‘ohe Community Center, a senior center, Pohai Nani, and The Plaza at Punchbowl. With a deep appreciation for the art, he feels truly blessed to pass on the wisdom of Tai Chi, helping others find strength, balance, and calm in today’s fast-paced world.
