Tactical Research Unit Rapid Fire Mini Congress

About this event

The Tactical Research Unit (TRU) will highlight the latest research and key findings in wider research in the tactical field. Following a keynote presentation from Dr. Daniel Cooper, the event will showcase some of the TRU’s recent research via a rapid fire series of presentations from TRU staff, and PhD students conducting research with TRU. Topics will range from load carriage to body armour, to fatigue to wilderness paramedicine.

Keynote Address by Dr. Daniel Cooper

Training to perform or learning to train? Understanding Factors associated with performance in high-threat, high-consequence encounters to improve the transfer of training.

Bio: Daniel is a human performance and behaviour specialist who focuses on improving individual and team performance in high-pressure, high-consequence situations. He draws upon 18 years of Special Operations experience, academic study, Post-Doctoral research and personal pursuits in conquering the world’s toughest extreme endurance events across the planet's most unforgiving environments. Through understanding the human factors of performance from this unique intersection of experience and knowledge, he now focuses on developing evidence-based practices for developing optimal performance in high pressure, high consequence environments.
