About this Event
Table Top Loom Weaving Class with Mary Lee
Each Student will create a 10” x 36” Woven Runner that can be used as a wall hanging, table runner, a pillow, or a “no draft” door stop.
Looms, hand tools and colored accent yarns will be provided.
Students are asked to bring a laundry basket FULL of old clothing that would otherwise be donated or thrown away. Cottons, flannels and wools are good to use in this project. Damaged and stained clothes are okay too!
Also, if you have any, bring several yards of fabric in assorted colors. This is a great way to get rid of all those old fabrics and clothes, cluttering up your closets and sewing rooms, that can no longer be used. If you have yarn/yarn scraps bring those as well!
(It is easy to make a multi colored woven piece, bring as many colors, pieces of old clothing and as many yards of fabric as you'd like. Students often enjoy trading fabrics from their stash with other classmates!)
18+
All levels welcome!
** Important note: Before class rip as much of the clothing and fabrics that you can, preferably into 1 1/2" to 2" wide strips (estimate). This will allow more time for learning and weaving your project and to ensure the completion of the runner.
Please bring a pair of fabric scissors to class!**
