In this workshop, you'll master the art of crafting a Viking-inspired belt using a blend of traditional weaving techniques and modern materials.We’ll guide you through the process of threading and manipulating cards to create intricate patterns, and you'll also learn to interpret a straightforward weaving pattern. By the end of the session, you'll not only have your hand-woven belt to take home but also a sample showcasing various techniques.
No prior experience is necessary, and all equipment and materials will be provided.

Maeve Farnell is a medieval artisan specialising in medieval tablet weaving and embroidery. Based in Southampton, she offers workshops and demonstrations at medieval events nationwide, showcasing historical techniques with a modern touch.
