The Dallas Filmmakers Alliance presents an opportunity for writers of any skill level to connect with others, hone their craft, and receive feedback on their creative works.
What is a Table Read?
Writers gather together in a group to hear their scripts read alloud and to give and recieve feedback. After all, everybody has a story to tell and we want to help you make your story the best it can be.
***Please submit all script pages to [email protected] with the subject TABLE READ 1/10***
How does it work?
- Submit 5-15 pages of your screenplay to [email protected]
- Groups will split into 5-7 writers who will be guided by a mediator.
- DFA Members will be allowed to read their scripts first. Non-members will read afterwards.
- Each script will recieve 5 minutes of critique time.

Rules:
- All critiques must be constructive and considerate.
- AI generated scripts are forbidden. The mediators reserve the right to revoke any critiques from an AI script.
- Teenagers under 18 are allowed to participate with a guardian.
- Some participants will choose to be on video. If you are knowingly videoed, such as acting in a film, the videos will most likely be shared online.
- We take pictures of participants and post them on social media, by participating, you agree to be photographed .
