To close out our Ta Wik’ a Ta Re Moriori celebrations in Ōtautahi, we will be gathering in Sumner for a picnic!
Bring your friends and hunau (family)!! Anyone supporting our first language week is welcome to join 🥰
Bring some kei (food) to share, any lawn games you may wish to play, picnic blankets, chairs, and your musical instruments if you feel like an impromptu meremere (singing) of Moriori rongo (songs).
We will host this a little later in the day, to avoid those harsher midday sun rays, but please still remember to use sunscreen and stay hydrated 🌞 A few of us may spend the morning enjoying the beach too, so reach out to Paris if you are keen to join.
Note: venue weather dependent - we will advise closer to the time if we are shifting to an indoor location.
