Taíno 101 with Kacike Tekina-eirúJune 29, 2024, 1-3pm
We look forward to spending time with you!
Brings your questions and your maraca!
Join Kacike Tekina-eirú for an informal gathering as she shares the history and culture of the Taino of Boriken, and the living traditions her Yukayeke shares with our community.
The Taino are the indigenous people of Borikén (Puerto Rico) and the Greater Antilles! Is your heart screaming to learn more?
Throw your beach chair or blanket in your car! This gathering will take place on June 29, 2024, 1-3pm -- outdoors in the Batey (under the trees) of the Puerto Rican Cultural Center (address below).
IF IT'S TOO HOT, we will sit indoors in the cool AC!
Kacike Tekina-eirú is tribal chief of YUKAYEKE YARA CU (Tribe of the Sacred Place) -- a Taino Tribe of blood descendants & Guaytiao (friends) proudly serving Central Texas.
