T4Teaparty A community gathering for Trans folks.
About this Event

Hello Folks!

We are hosting a a very low key community gathering. We will have some tea, snacks, and crafts to share. Feel free to bring your own snacks and crafts if you desire. This is not a dating event, just simply a place to gather and nourish our souls a bit.

At this time we want to create space for Trans identifying folks. This includes folks who are 2-Spirit, Trans, Non-Binary, Gender Diverse, Gender Queer, Questioning, etc. We will welcome support humans who accompany our Trans peeps, while centering the experiences of the Trans humans in our space.

If you arrive after 7pm, we will give you a number to text to come and get you.

This event is happening on the stolen lands of the Lekwungen Speaking People. We reconigze that colonial gender identities and roles have specifically have done harm to Indigenous people all over Turtle Island. Let this be a place where can can say "Fuck colonial gender" and celebrate all who walk in their ancesteral ways and knowing.

Space held by: Vem Stevens (they/them), Shay Manerikar (they/them), and Tanille Geib (she/they/hube)

Hosted by: www.queercarecollectivevictoria.com

Accessibility: Our space can be found on the second floor of 888 Fort Street on the corner of Fort and Quadra.

When entering from Fort Street, there is a small ramp incline up to the doors from the sidewalk, and no steps. The automatic door opener to enter and exit the lobby is functional.

In the lobby you’ll find an elevator you can take to the second floor. Once you’re off the elevator, there is a long hallway from the elevator to the waiting area (~50 feet).

The washrooms are on the left of the hallway when you’re entering the space, about half way between the elevator and the waiting area. There are two washrooms, one with 2 stalls, and one with a stall and a urinal. Both washrooms have one accessible stall. Signs on the washrooms are gender-neutral and contain a visual description of the fixtures available in each room. The washrooms also have a lock if you should prefer to use the washroom privately.

The doors to the washrooms are 33” wide, the doors to the accessible stalls are 34” wide, and the sinks are 32.5” from the floor. The light switches are 55” from the floor, to the left of the door when you enter.

Outside the washrooms, the narrowest dimension is 38” between a wall and a half-wall when entering the waiting area.

We have a low lighting, scent reduced space. We will ask folks if low background music will be good for the event.

COVID: If you are feeing sick, please stay at home. We can refund you if you make a donation. Our main space doesn't have windows that can be opened, but the office we can be in will have an open window for air flow. We have masks available to use, please use them if that makes you feel safer. Hand Sanitizer is available, and we ask you to use this coming into the space, and before touching the snack bar. Bring your own hand sanitizer if you need to.
