About this Event
T4T Shop Time is a peer-lead workshop, hosted in the Yukonstruct Makespace.
October's T4T shop time welcomes folks over 18 who self identify as two spirit, trans, and gender non-conforming.
Folks can show up to socialize, have a slice of pizza, and choose whether they would like to take part in building the project.
All experience levels are welcome!
If you want to build the end table, we ask that you show up within the first half hour of the workshop, so you have enough time to complete it.
We recognize there are communities who traditionally experience barriers to accessing tools, shop and training time, and we are working towards reducing those barriers.
We have a portion of tickets reserved for People of Global Majority (This is a term used to refer to all ethnic groups except white British and other white groups, including white minorities.)
To access these tickets, use Promo code: FIRSTPICK
If they have not been claimed, remaining tickets may be made available for others during the last few days of ticket sales.
Reach out to [email protected] with any questions.
What can I expect when I show up?
1) You will show up to the Yukonstruct Makerspace door, across from Five Star Vietnamese side door, and ring the doorbell.
2) Someone from the YWITT/YKST team will open the door, show you where to put your jacket, and offer you a piece of pizza.
3) One of the YWITT Team will give you a safety orientation, and make sure you're ready to enter the shop.
4) YWITT staff and helpers will demonstrate and oversee your safe use of the tools relevant to your project.
