About this Event
This workshop is for the confident beginner who already knows how to use a sewing machine but needs some guidance on making a T-shirt quilt. This is an easy wall hanging that uses nine of your favorite T-shirts to showcase, however you can make a throw/lap size quilt using a few additional T-shirts.
The first class will be preparing your shirts. You will be cutting up the T-shirts and interfacing pieces to fuse them to each of the T-shirt fronts or backs, depending on which part you are using. We’ll discuss the different options of making T-shirt quilts. You will decide how you would like to layout your shirt blocks and what fabrics you will need to bring to the next class.Supplies needed for the FIRST class: Minimum of 9 clean T-Shirts with logos, and 1½ yards of lightweight fusible interfacing If you plan to make additional T-shirt quilts beyond this class, I highly suggest you purchase a T-Shirt Transformation Ruler (this accommodates 10” 12” or 15” blocks) and a 45mm rotary cutter.
The sewing room is located on the second floor and the studio has 3 straight stitch industrial sewing machines available to use, however it is encouraged for you to bring your own if you have one.
🚨NOTE: This is an ongoing workshop depending on your skill level, it might take 2-4 classes for you to finish.🚨Four people per class. 16+ years old.
