Tātai Kōrero will bring together young Māori and Pasifika to celebrate, empower and inspire through storytelling. Storytelling is an integral part of indigenous culture where histories, customs and traditions are articulated through oral passage. UN Youth New Zealand and its Māori & Pasifika Advisory committee, Te Kawekawe, are delighted to host this event at the University of Auckland’s Waipapa Marae and Fale Pasifika ?
Across three days, rangatahi will be grounded with the knowledge of their genealogy, learn more about the Indigenous history of Aotearoa, participate in climate focused workshops, absorb the knowledge of Indigenous trailblazers, and much more! ?
By enhancing the mana of our Māori and Pasifika youth, Tātai Kōrero aims to equip participants with practical, useful, and grounding knowledge that will last into their adulthood.
If you are passionate about decolonising, indigenising, and reclaiming, Tātai Kōrero is the platform to further develop your knowledge and equip you with the drive to act on them. ?
Please note, Te Kawekawe strongly believe there should be no barriers to participating in this conference, therefore scholarships will be available for participants by application.
Applications are OPEN NOW ! More information about Tātai Kōrero can be found here: https://www.unyouth.org.nz/event-details/tatai-korero-2021
