About this Event
We invite you to Ibrahim Hamid's art exhibition taking place in ICA's community space on the 5th floor. His son, Fadi Al Hamid, will present a short film of his father's artworks, as well as facilitate a conversation with him about his paintings. Please join us for Syrian snacks and for added conversation on the topic of immigration.
Through his artworks, Hamid seeks to capture the unique challenges faced by immigrant
women, to create layered and textured compositions that reflect the diferent layers of
identity and experience, as well as the strength and resilience that they bring to their
journeys.
Hamid's artworks also highlight the importance of empathy, compassion, and solidarity
with immigrant women, emphasizing the shared humanity and interconnectedness of all
people. He expresses the unique insights and emotions that immigrant women bring to
their new homes, celebrating the richness and diversity of human experience and the
power of human resilience and adaptation in the face of change.
To attend, please register and reserve a spot above.
There will be a translator present for Arab speaking communities.
