Witches: Did you know that Connecticut held witch trials 40 years before Salem -- and that many towns in our state have related stories of their own? Local author Kara LaBella will introduce us to a family legend, passed down by Simsbury's original settlers, describing two 'unusual' women who were accused in the 1680s. She will share the research that helped her find their identities, reveal their connections to other women accused in actual Connecticut history and discuss her writing process as she worked on The Symsbury Witches. Copies of her book will be available for purchase and signing at the event. No registration required for this free program for adults.
