Lieve leden, genodigden en geïnteresseerden,Eindelijk is het zo ver: de Actualiteitencommissie organiseert deze zomer weer het jaarlijkse symposium! Op maandag 26 juli zal het symposium van 19:00-22:00 plaatsvinden, met na afloop een borrel. Het evenement vindt plaats in de Theaterzaal van CREA, het culturele studentencentrum van Amsterdam en is gratis toegankelijk.
Dit jaar zal het symposium in het teken staan van Emancipatie. Aan de hand van een aantal verschillende elementen, zoals sprekers, panels en workshops, zullen we de positie van de LHBTQ+-gemeenschap in het verleden, het heden en de toekomst bespreken. Wat is er vooraf gegaan aan het instellen van het homohuwelijk in het verleden? Hoe kunnen we op dit moment bijdragen aan seksuele emancipatie, zowel binnen als buiten relaties? Hoe zou de emancipatie van onze gemeenschap zich in de toekomst zich nog kunnen ontwikkelen? Dit zijn allemaal vragen die besproken zullen worden.

Dear members and other invited or interested people,
The time has finally come: the Current Affairs Committee will once again organise the yearly symposium this summer! On Monday, July 26th, the symposium will take place from 7-10 PM, followed by some drinks. The event will take place in the Theaterzaal at CREA, the cultural student centre of Amsterdam and will be open to everyone with no entrance fee.
This year, the theme of the symposium will be Emancipation. Using different formats, such as speakers, panels and workshops, we will discuss the position of the LGBTQ+ community in the past, present and future. What events have led up to equal marriage opportunities for queer couples? What can we do to currently aid sexual emancipation, both within and outside our relationships? How will the emancipation of our community develop in the future? These and more questions will be covered during the symposium.
