The tranquility of the English countryside in The Banks of Green Willow, Silvestrov's serene and meditative prayer for peace in Ukraine, and the sacred a cappella choruses of The Peaceable Kingdom lead to Haydn's powerful and climactic choral work - Mass in Time of War. Widely acknowledged as a call for peace, the jubilant finale reflects strength and hope.
