As part of its Centennial Celebration, the MSO Foundation Inc. continues its mission of education, outreach, and nation-building through orchestral music.
Symphonic Explorations is a unique initiative of the Manila Symphony Orchestra to bring the experience of live orchestral music all over the various regions of the Philippines. This is done not only through curated and annotated performances of orchestral music but also via engaging local music enthusiasts and students to participate in an intensive workshops that will enable them to participate as actual musicians performing alongside the members of MSO.
This year, the program introduces dedicated training for conductors and leaders of bands, ensembles, and orchestras, strengthening the educational component of the outreach. By developing local leadership, the MSO ensures that the learnings take root in each community and continue to grow beyond the duration of the visit.
Symphonic Explorations had already engaged hundreds of local musicians and thousands of listeners from Cebu, Bacolod, Las Pinas, Lipa City, Lian City, Cagayan De Oro, Ilocos Sur, Davao, and Tacloban as well as schools such as La Salle Lipa and Polytechnic University of the Philippines.
