Wheelchair seating systems are configured to optimise postural support. Yet we know our
clients spend considerable time outside of the wheelchair.
This interactive and dynamic workshop will give you the skills and confidence to introduce postural care strategies in both lying and resting outside the wheelchair.
LEARN how to:
● Gain confidence in assessing for appropriate body shapes
● Prevent/Protect against changes in body shape with emphasis on the chest, spine, and pelvis.
● Manage existing changes in body shape to prevent worsening contractures and promote comfort.
● Strategies to restore appropriate body shapes.
Attendees will leave with practical strategies and interventions to use immediately with
children and adults with physical disabilities.

This training session is designed for occupational therapists,
physiotherapists, nurses, and client caregivers and AT equipment providers. Gain professional development credits.
