Sylvia Rose Novak is a songwriter, singer, multi-instrumentalist and producer based in Nashville, TN who’s work has been featured in national and international publications such as American Songwriter and Billboard Magazine.

She began her career in the Americana genre as a musician for hire and taught herself violin after inherent gender bias seemed to close any door that could lead to a career on bass, an instrument that Novak has played since age 12. She went on to release her first three studio albums in this genre between 2014 and 2018.

In 2019, recording began for Bad Luck, aptly-named as it would release the following year. This album cycle saw the beginnings of a stylistic shift, introducing a harder-edged sound that mirrored Novak’s growing disdain for the Americana genre and the role she felt it forced her into. This shift culminated in 2022’s A Miss/ A Masterpiece and immediate follow up The West End Sound Singles.

Expanding on her love of Pop production in rock music, “Broad Strokes” was recorded and released in late 2023.

The Sylvia Rose Novak of current is an artist exploring the depths of her influences, writing and producing what will become her sixth studio album.
