Join us at Olive's on Main (5629 Main St.) for downtown Sylvania's monthly literary event as part of Red Bird Sylvania's First Friday festivities! For November, we're changing it up a bit--opening up the floor to original stories and creative nonfiction with a STORY SLAM (which is similar to a poetry slam, only with more focus on prose). That means that both poets AND prose writers can participate!
To participate, bring three of your best original pieces--they can be fiction, nonfiction, poetry, or hybrid.
Sign-up begins at 5:30 p.m. The slam starts at 6 p.m. (And because we're welcoming prose this time around, participants will have six minutes per piece instead of the usual three minutes per poem.)
A story/poetry slam is a friendly and fun competition. Volunteers from the audience will be the slam judges! No experience necessary.
All experience levels welcome!
