The Sydney Soul Weekender is back for 2024 from Friday 23rd to Sunday 25th of August.
As always, you’ll have some of Australia’s best Northern Soul and Modern Soul DJ’s with their record boxes full of great selections, bringing you classic rare and not so rare Northern Soul dance floor stompers as well as some great Modern Soul bangers.
We guarantee you 2 massive nights of soul music, and a huge all-dayer in 2 fantastic locations across the Emerald City, all with wooden dance floors and fantastic sound systems!
We are heading back to the Sydney Community Portugal Club at Frazer Park in the Club House, after the overwhelming positive response we had last year. We will be there for Friday and Saturday night. Sunday sees us across the city in Potts Point, in a former night club, where we will finish up the weekend with our all day event. If you were there last year, you know this was a Sunday to remember!
Both venues are close to public transport and entertainment areas, where you can find a bite to eat either at the venue or close by. We have you covered!

The Sydney Soul Weekender Crew
No other underground music scene has survived for so long as the Northern Soul scene. Sparked into life by young music enthusiasts in clubs of the North of England in the late 60s, it is now a worldwide phenomenon with a strong foothold in Australia and in Sydney. Northern Soul's legacy as the first independent dance music scene is undisputed. Unlike the prices of the records, its values remain unchanged - it's simply about having a good time dancing the night away to the driving beat of the amazing voices on the records made by lesser-known American soul artists who remain to this day the true stars of the scene.
