It's here, the annual Sydney All-day Singing! Registration will start from 9am then singing from 9:30-4pm with an evening social. If you've never been to an All-day, it's a great intro to shape note singing. Feel free to come to the whole event or just for a couple of hours. Yes we will be singing all day, but don't worry, there will plenty of tea breaks, including dinner on the grounds and a social event at a nearby pub or restaurant in the evening.
An All-day Singing is a little more formal than our regular weeknight singings: we take minutes of the songs led and who called them and whoever is leading will generally stand up to call the song from the centre of the square. We also have a session called the Memorial Lesson where we call out the names of our friends and family who have passed away or who are sick/shut-in.
Note this is likely our last All-day singing from the 1991 Denson edition. Gather ye Roses of Sharon while ye may!
