Step into the Shield Wall. A 2hr hour workshop exploring how the sword and shield can work together for stage and screen combat. During this workshop we will explore how to hold, move and fight before you battle it out in your own Holmgang (a 1 on 1 duel).
Stage/Screen Combat is the sort of fighting you see on stage and screen and is a way of creating dramatic scenes of conflict without anyone getting hurt, though choregraphed movements. Its origins are ancient but the ‘modern’ version comes from the Elizabethan era.
Suitable for 16 plus, anyone aged between 16-18 must be accompanied by an adult on the course. No previous experience, but to get the most from the session some experience is suggested.
Please note: We use wooden shields which can start to feel heavy over time.
