Come down to the Linsmore Tavern (1298 Danforth Ave) on Thursday October 24th and BARK AT THE MOON in support of the Toronto Humane Society. Toronto local rockers Switched On! will be bringing the best 90’s and 2000’s big hits plus songs that go ‘beyond the Big Shiny Tunes. This Toronto based female-fronted 5-piece band specializes in loud 90’s and 2000’s rock. They play a number of standards but try to go a bit beyond the Big Shiny Tunes by featuring bands like The Beaches, Raconteurs, Audioslave and Alabama Shakes. The show starts at 8:30pm and the music will last all night. Only $10 at the door, and 100% of proceeds will go directly to help disadvantaged doggies and kitties (and more) that are currently guesting at the Toronto Humane Society. So come on out and support our furry friends and Toronto rock ’n roll.Switched On! was formed in 2023 by Toronto scene veterans and lovers of 90’s and 2000’s-era rock. Barb on lead vocals mixes the rasp of No Doubt-era Gwen Stefani with Chris Cornell’s soulfulness; Phil and Michael on duelling guitars channel the best of Pearl Jam and Kings of Leon; Murad on drums delivers Dave Grohl’s explosive energy; and Matt on bass keeps the low end in check bringing everything from Sloan’s bubbling pop lines to Audioslave’s crushing fuzz.
From STP to The Interrupters, Alabama Shakes to Velvet Revolver, and The Beaches to The Raconteurs, Switched On! brings incredible big rock variety beyond the usual Big Shiny Tunes compilation.
The Switched On! mission is to bring people together in celebration of two of the best eras of rock and roll. Take our word for it, this is a night you are going want to be apart of and all for a good cause!
