About our teachers:
BEN WHITE (USA) has been addicted to all things swing since 2004, studying under original masters from the swing era and working with many of the top lindy hoppers of the last 20 years. He’s dedicated most of his adult life to connecting people through dance and music, and is renowned for his ability to create fun, welcoming classes for anyone whether they have two left feet or they’ve been dancing their whole life.
In addition to teaching regularly throughout Europe and North America, Ben has produced several major festivals such as Stormy Weather Jazz Fest and Big Sky Weekend and currently heads up the Syncopation Foundation, a coalition of dance schools and venues across the northwest US.
We are thrilled to have him in Belgrade, for the first time!
DASHA BELOKUROVA (RUS) went to her first dance class in 2010. Having started with boogie-woogie, she has been exploring the world of swing dances ever since: lindy hop, solo jazz, balboa, blues –seems like she can not make a choice in favour of just one style.
In 2015, together with her close friends, she founded Summertime Swing – the biggest swing dance club in Saint Petersburg. The following year she started teaching and now cannot imagine her life without it and is always happy to share her passion for jazz dancing.
A degree in teaching helps her keep the balance between fun and efficiency in the learning process. She likes exploring dancing and body movement together with her students and sharing her tips on improvisation.
Since Dasha was the winner of the Mix & Match competition at last year's Swingidunum festival, we're super excited that she'll be teaching Lindy Hop and Blues classes with Ben!
