Swing Dance Social: Live Music with the Cloud Drops + Drop-In Lesson (All Ages)

Lindy Hop is one of the original Swing dances, made famous in the ballrooms of Harlem. Danced to a wide range of tempos, the music is traditionally big band Swing from the golden era of Jazz. Improvisation and rhythmical play are tied to Lindy Hop’s styling and spirit.
Price: $5 for Lesson, $25 for Dance
Age Requirement: All Ages
Beginner Lesson: 9:00pm to 9:30pm
Social Dance: 9:30pm to 12:00am
Music: The Cloud Drops
The Cloud Drops are an all-star 8-piece (sometimes 7-piece) dance band from Seattle that formed specifically for the first year of the Stormy Weather Jazz Festival. Since then, they’ve continued to hone their craft around town, becoming favorites at the Century Ballroom and Swing Dance SCT. The band features over 60 original arrangements and compositions by local favorites Jonathan Doyle, Jacob Zimmerman and Matt Weiner.
