Q&A* When does it run ?
Twin swim runs every Friday during term time. 9 am to 9.55 am
* How much does it cost?
£6 per session per family
* Where is it held?
Places Leisure, Eastleigh. Teaching pool
*Is there family / parent parking?
Yes, at the main entrance area.
*What's the ratio of adult to child in the pool?
Currently 1:3, though if this is the case 1child must be water confident or in a float device.
* Can I bring a helper?
YES,
* Do my helpers have to pay?
NO
*Can my friends come along with their children?
Yes, they welcome to come at £6 per family.
*My multiples aren't babies, can we still come?
Of course, any age is a great age to start swimming
* My twins are nearly 2 & never been swimming, can we still come & what if they cry because they don't like it?
You can join at any age, children cry, children scream... That's fine do it little by little, new things take time for them to build confidence, couple weeks & they'll be jumping off the side by themselves 😁
* Is it a structured class?
No, it's a free swim
*Can I hold my babies in the water or must they be in a float?
Either to suit you.. If holding only, please highlight your name on the sign in sheet.
*How old do my babies have to be to come along?
No fixed age, some parents like to wait till 1st Jabs but that's a choice thing & isn't requirement, up until the time they start school.
*How do I pay for sessions?
Cash at poolside
*Do we have to come every week?
PREVIOUSLY NOT, THIS MAY CHANGE TO A BLOCK BOOKING
*I have other children, can we bring them?
Yes of course, siblings welcome
*What do we do when we arrive?
We can organise meet & greet for first session if needed, always nice to have someone to show you the way, often the hardest part is coming to anything on your own for the 1st time.
No need to queue at desk the ladies will buzz you through the gate, then straight ahead turn right and into changing rooms.
* Can I take my buggy to the changing rooms?
Yes.. there are large family changing rooms which side by side buggies fit, turn left as you enter the changing room.
*How do I get from changing room to poolside with multiples?
We have an agreement that buggies can be taken poolside providing the wheels are fairly clean & buggies are parked tightly with brakes on.
* How do I get in the water with 2 babies?
We help you get in and out.. It really is easier than you think.
*Can I use floats?
Yes of course, many types available... Neck rings. Puddle Jumpers. Float vests. Arm bands. Single & Double seats.
* Do you supply any floats for families to use?
PLEASE TRY TO SECURE YOUR OWN FLOATS. I HAVE ADDED A POST ASKING THOSE WHO HAVE OUT GROWN THEIR FLOATS TO OFFER THEM UP TO THIS GROUP
*Do I have to stay for the full hour?
No you can stay as long or as little to suit you.
* Do I need to be there at the start of the session?
No
* I heard the group do swimming lessons, can we join?
Not at the moment
* What's the ratio of parent to child for lessons?
Baby session 1:1
Toddler session 1:2
* Can I do it on my own with 2?
Of course you can 👍
* I want to come but not sure how I'm going to do it on my own...♡
Come along and watch, talk to our families and pick up some top tips.
*My babies will need feeding afterwards, where can I do this?
We generally all meet up after the session in the seating area, someone does a coffee run 🙌 and the rest watch the babies.
*I can't swim so how can I take my babies swimming?
Pool is 75cm deep so for most of us around bottom height.
* Is the pool heated?
Yes its a training pool so around 29°C.
* Can I shower after swimming?
Yes large showering area & individual showers. Hair dryers also available.
* Are the changing rooms single sexed?
No, there are large family changing rooms, individual cubicles & family cubicles.
*Are there lifeguards on duty?
Yes usually 2 or 3 depending on numbers swimming.
* I'm pregnant & thinking of coming when babies arrive ♡♡
Great BUMP mums can come to get some hands on experience, chat to our mums and get some top tips. PLEASE CHECK BOOKING BEFORE TURNING UP
* Do I need to book & let you know I'm coming or can I just turn up?
You can just turn up. If it's your 1st session be nice to know you'll be joining us so we can keep an eye out for you, organise a meet & greet if needed and give you some extra help
* I have / my helper has mobility issues ☆☆☆
The pool is fitted with water access wheel chair, please let us know if you need this operating so we can organise for you.
*What else can I expect from the session?
Friendship, laughter, chat, coffee, cake, helping hands, listening ears, understanding mums, top tips, chance to sit down afterwards, fun with your children, bonding with baby.. Lets not forget the chance to teach them water safety & who knows that might just help save a life..
Lastly... The joy of knowing swimming wears them out so at least a solid 2 hour nap afterwards 💞
