FUNDRAISING 5K SWIMATHON FOR JON on Sunday 12th October at Bridport Leisure Centre (Pool time kindly donated by BLC)JON’S STORY 💙
After 24 years in the Royal Navy and starting his dream job with Babcock International, Jon’s life was on track. A passionate sportsman, he represented Hampshire and the Royal Navy in Rugby, and played golf for RN Air Command.
In March, Jon was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease (MND) - a progressive, life-shortening condition with no cure.
Jon, his wife, and their two daughters now face the challenges of deteriorating health and the heartbreaking reality of leaving their family home.
Funds raised will support Jon’s healthcare needs, specialist equipment, and making special family memories. 💞
THE CHALLENGE 💪
Jon’s niece Arwen (11) and his mum, popular member of the centre Rose Over will swim 5K (200 lengths) of the pool at Bridport Leisure Centre!
Rose said: “In response to this devastating news about my son Jon, we wanted something to focus on. Several fundraising challenges have been completed, but being a swimmer all my life, this one felt right for both me and my granddaughter Arwen.”
