Becoming a qualified swim teacher will give you the necessary skills to gain employment working with families and the community; teaching fundamental aquatic skills in a fun, safe and educational environment.There are several nationally recognised organisations you can study through to become a swim teacher in Australia; including Swim Australia™.
To further your skills and knowledge in specialised areas, there are also extension courses available through both organisations, which you can read more about below.
Swimming Queensland (SQ) is committed to developing the sport of swimming across the entire community. For this reason, we have partnered with the Georgina Hope Foundation and the Queensland Government to offer Teacher Workshops throughout Queensland at a reduced fee. Attendees can continue their education and complete their qualification at a reduced cost by completing the theory component of the relevant Swim Australia™ Teacher course.
