Welcome back for our 10th whole season of Swim for Refugees! 100% the best way to spend your next ten Saturdays.This event is our Volunteer Training Day.
If you want to volunteer with us, make sure you turn up to this event!
WHEN:
Training Day: 2nd of October, 10:30am-1:30pm.
Season Dates: Saturdays from 12:30pm-2:30pm, 9th October - 11th December.
WHERE:
John Bloomfield Lecture Theatre UWA, and UniSwim Aquatic Centre.
The Lecture theatre is right next to the pool. If you get lost, look for people in Swim for Refugees tee shirts on the street Parkway, Crawley.
WHAT:
- 10:30-12pm: Information Session in the Lecture Theatre. Learning everything you need to know about the program! Ask any questions, meet the people.
- 12:00pm: Half-hour break.
-12:30pm-1:30pm: In Pool Water Safety and Essential Swim Teaching Skills
WHO CAN VOLUNTEER:
All are welcome to come and volunteer with us! You just need a Working With Children's Check, and to be able to commit to the season dates.
VOLUNTEER ROLES:
-Swim Teachers: Need swim teacher qualifications, bronze medallion, lifesaving or similar.
-Swim Buddies: Help out teachers in the water. Need to be strong, comfortable swimmers.
- Activity Centre Vollies: Make pancakes, chat with families, watch kids and play games while parents swim.
- Social Media Volunteer: Creating and posting content on our socials!
Old volunteers, you know the drill- We do still want you to pop in for the first half, as we'll be doing some team building and we need to make sure you've got an updated WWCC, and will defs be joining us for the program. You can go on your merry way after that!
