SWIM - FLOW & FOREST BATH - JAPANESE RITUALS IN HAMPSTEAD HEATH An invigorating holistic workshop that involves Yin & Yang Yoga, Wild Swimming, Forest Bathing and a Sound Bath in Nature, Hampstead Heath
About this Event

Join us for an energising Yang to Yin Yoga (Vinyasa and Yin combined) class on the beautiful Hampstead Heath, followed by a refreshing Wild swim in the mixed bathing pond if you are feeling the high energy vibe to experience rejuvenation then join me. You will feel invigorated and energized to experience the cold water immersion activating our immune system, receive a natural high, as well as activating our endorphins. This chemical is what the brain produces to make us feel good during activities.

Cold water swimming is also a form of exercise, and exercise has been proven to treat depression/low mood in addition brings us close to the pain barrier. Endorphins are released when we’re in pain, to help us cope with it. It improves your circulation too, should you tend to feel cold all the time. When swimming in cold water it helps to flush our veins, arteries, and capillaries. It forces blood to the surface and helps too warm our extremities. Repeated exposure adapts us to the cold allowing the body to naturally regulate. It increases your libido and traditionally seen to repress sexual urges.

Testimonial: I found it incredibly relaxing, rejuvenating as I love the combination of activities - it was like attending a mini retreat in nature - activating all senses and challenging the mind and body. Overall mentally and physically healing for all our energetic bodies being the Mind, Body, Soul and Spirit, if you want to also meet like minded people this is the type of event to attend. Men and Women are welcome to join.

Wild Swimming in nature washes away your worries whilst the cold water improves immunity, boosts your mood, improves circulation and reduces inflammation in the body.

Swimming is optional! But if you have never swam in the Hampstead ponds, it is an energising uplifting experience - boosting serotonin and dopamine as well as flowing and bathing in sound energy whilst listening to the beautiful sound frequencies in the forest after forest bathing.

The class will start will a dynamic Vinyasa flow that will transition into a Yin restorative sequence, there will be variations given throughout for different levels. You will feel re-energized, rejuvenated and balanced within. It is a workout so do expect to sweat and you will also experience a deep integrative stretch where you will massage your muscles to feel light and elevated within each part of your body.

Meeting point: Hampstead Heath Station: 9.45am to walk down to the heath for 10am

It is important to arrive on time as we will walk together into the Heath to find a beautiful space to set up for our Yoga practice, then swim, hike into the forest in and amongst the trees then find a space to lay down and listen to the beautiful Tibetan Sound Bowls as you transcend.

Optional: You can choose to attend a Forest Bathing experience with Sound Energy - hiking in nature without technology and admiring the nature, energy, silence. We walk and connect with our senses and then we immerse ourselves amongst the trees - where we connect and have the option to hug a tree - connect with mother nature. Journal time - if we gather ideas/thoughts.

What is Forest Bathing? Forest bathing and forest therapy (or shinrin-yoku) broadly means taking in, in all of one’s senses, the forest atmosphere. Not simply a walk in the woods, it is the conscious and contemplative practice of being immersed in the sights, sounds and smells of the forest. It was developed in Japan during the 1980s, and in 1982 Japan made this form of mobile meditation under the canopy of living forests a part of its national health program. Researchers, primarily in Japan and South Korea, have established a growing body of scientific literature on the diverse health benefits.

Sound Bath in Nature - we will lay down and you will get a chance to experience a Sound Bath - immerse yourself with the beautiful Tibetan sound vibrations around the trees.

You will experience: relaxation, energy, enlightenment and bliss without a doubt. If you would like to try something new - come along you will not be disappointed.
